We had fun "growing" in our class this past week as we studied plants and gardening! We cannot believe that we only have a few more weeks until the year is over, but we are amazed at how much these sweet friends have "bloomed" this year!
We were busy learning in our garden theme centers! We made flowers built out of our names to go along with the book The Tiny Seed. We even got to plant our own flower and grass seeds and talk about what plants need to grow! Everyone also had lots of fun planting flowers in our potting sensory bin. We enjoyed several different flower counting games and spent a lot of time on beginning sounds and writing letters. We are making so much progress with our letter and number recognition. To go along with our gardening theme, we read books about the parts of plants, how seeds move around, and types of plants. See if your child can remember any cool plant facts!
Our Bible focus for the week was how we can grow in God by continuing to learn more about him. We learned a new fun Fruit of the Spirit song to learn the ways that God helps us to show others his love. See if your child can remember the story of the vine and the branches... We discussed how a branch that is chopped off cannot grow or have fruit anymore, and if we don't love God, we cannot do the things that He wants us to do.
We also had some science fun this week! We continued to enjoy observing the changes in our tadpoles this week. Thank you to Baerli again for bringing these in. We also colored water to do a celery experiment. See if your child can remember what happened to the leaves of the celery.
We look forward to another great week next week!
