We also focused on nonfiction books this week... We read about dental health on Monday and then read books about a variety of community helpers on Tuesday and Wednesday, including doctors, firemen, dentists, chefs, police officers, firemen, and more! We even got to have a police officer come and visit us on Wednesday. See if your child can tell you any of the safety lessons (the importance of knowing their address and the importance of never touching a gun). To go along with our theme, we had independent reading time to look through some nonfiction books about community helpers, pretended to be doctors by making our very own stethoscopes, practiced being chefs in our play dough kitchen, and practiced our color words by coloring in different community helper vehicles.

Our town even had a hospital and ambulance! |
And as always, we enjoy building our social skills with play time and our gross motor skills in the green room!
Bridge
We also had a great week in our Bridge class this week! We spent extra time talking about dental care and community helpers! We enjoyed making police cars with our feet, pearly white smiles with paint dabbers, and community helper hats! We also extended our learning with extra reading time, sight word practice, and even CVC word writing practice! We are doing such a great job!
