Our Derby week went “racing” by! We truly cannot believe that next week is our final week. What a joy this class has been to teach!
We had lots of fun this week learning about the Kentucky Derby and all of the festivities that go along with it. We read a wide variety of books about the Derby and horses and enjoyed making several crafts to go along with our theme, including a letter H horse and the face for a pool noodle horse. These horses sure had fun racing in our own mini Derby back behind the school! We also enjoyed making our own "sailboats" to race (to go along with today's boat race in Louisville)! We have some very competitive friends in our class! :)
Such fast horses! |
Fun with boat races! |
It was quite the competition! |
Our centers also included lots of fun this week! We continued to work on our teen numbers and our letters as a final review for the year. We are becoming very independent!
If you didn’t see many crafts come home this week, you can look forward to a beautiful Mother’s Day gift next week!
Bridge Class
We were off and running during Bridge this week as well! We enjoyed learning lots of fun facts about horses as well as what is involved in racing horses. We enjoyed making our own clothespin horses, hand print horses, and Popsicle stick horses! We worked a lot on subtraction this week in our Bridge small group, and we were amazed at how quickly everyone is grasping this concept! What a smart bunch! We look forward to our final week together next week!
