Racing into Derby Week! (Threes)

This week went "racing" by! Mrs. Nicole and I are sad that the year is almost over. However, we have had such a blast teaching this sweet class!

We had lots of fun to fit in this week, from making some special gifts to go home next week to racing our pool noodle horses! We did several "final" things, including our final coloring samples and tracing sheets for the portfolios. It is amazing how far everyone has come in our fine motor skills!

We read a wide variety of horse and horse racing books this week, including the book Gaston Goes to the Kentucky Derby. We had fun making letter H horses (while practicing our cutting skills), doing horse uppercase/lowercase letter matching, learning several new horse songs, feeding our horses oats, building number fences, and more!

We can definitely say our pool noodle horses were one of the highlights of the week! Our Derby had some fast competition!

This week, see if your child can...
1. Tell you the sounds of letter D and H (for Derby and horse).
2. Order the numbers 1 to 10 with no help.
3. Do a sound sort of six to eight pictures that start with two different letters.
4. Tell you about Paul and  Silas in prison.
5. Tell you one fact about a horse they learned.

We loved feeding the horses oats!

Someone ordered all the numbers
with no help!

So proud of her work!

Gumby went on his last adventure!

Look at that letter writing!

We created a self portrait!

Someone was ready for Derby!

We had a class prayer circle today!

And they're off!
