Dr. Seuss Week! (Threes)

We had a blast celebrating Read Across America! From silly socks to wacky clothes and more, we had so much fun!

We enjoyed reading lots of great Dr. Seuss books this week, including The Cat in the Hat, Oh The Places You'll Go, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; and Hop on Pop.  We were so thankful for our awesome guest readers who came in to read to us and share their love for reading. We also had some time to read independently this week. We talked all about how important and how fun it is to read!

We had fun with lots of activities that went along with our Dr. Seuss books! We made Cat in the Hat name hats and practiced painting patterns with hats as well. After reading Oh the Places You'll Go, we talked about what we want to be when we grow up. Check out the hot air balloons hanging in the back of our room to see what your child said they wanted to be when they grow up. We also practiced counting with a fun "fishing" game and a goldfish counting mat to go along with the book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. After reading The Foot Book, we also worked on matching animals with their feet.

We continue to be amazed by the great readers in our class! We hope that after this Read Across America week, everyone is reminded of how important it is to read!

Our very own Cat in the Hat!
