Dinosaurs All Around!

Dinosaurs got everyone excited this week! These sweet kiddos bring a smile when they come in the room and leave us smiling when they leave. :)

This week, we talked about dinosaurs and fossils. We made our own hand print stegosauruses, made paper plate dinosaurs, stomped like dinosaurs, played with dinosaurs, counted with dinosaur eggs, read books about dinosaurs, and more. We even had fun with the dinosaur footprint that visited our classroom! We talked about how dinosaurs lived long ago on the earth and that we can only know about them through fossils. We read several nonfiction books, as well as Stomp! Stomp!, How Do Dinosaurs Stay Friends?, There’s a T-Rex in Town, and Dinosaur Shapes.

Mrs. Nicole and I also had fun watching all of our sweet friends interact with one another and continue to develop friendships. Every week, we see more hugs, hear more encouraging words from one friend to another, and smile as they play together more. This week, I was also struck by how far many of the students have already come. I watched as students correctly gripped their markers, balanced on the balance beam in the green room, and remembered letters we learned over a month ago. I am so proud of this sweet class!

Here are some things you can ask your child if they remember about this week...

1. Anything about dinosaurs or fossils
2. Our Bible verse (Psalm 111:1) or Bible story (the  paralyzed man lowered through the roof).
3. How we have been able to learn about dinosaurs.
4. The letter Dd and the sound that it makes.
5. How many sides a square has.
