We pray that our discussions will be another piece in the way that God is making himself known to each and every one in our class. While all of our activities were fun, we pray that what they remember most from this week is the story of Jesus' great love!
We read a variety of Easter books this week... Both about Jesus and several fictional books. Everyone enjoyed There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick and Happy Easter, Curious George! To go along with our Easter celebration, we had fun making two beautiful cross crafts. We also talked about how Easter eggs remind us of how
the tomb was empty when Jesus rose from the grave. We had lots of fun with
eggs, of course! We used eggs to help us with counting, doing AB patterns, matching uppercase and lowercase letters, and writing letters. We even had fun guessing what our friends put into their eggs they brought from home!
We also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in our room, as well as a hunt for Easter egg letters in the green room! Our science fun for the week was also connected to Easter. See
if your child can remember anything about the resurrection rolls that we made!
We placed a marshmallow into a crescent roll after dipping it into cinnamon sugar.
We talked about how the marshmallow represented Jesus (who was without sin),
the cinnamon sugar represented our sin, and the crescent roll represented the
tomb where they placed Jesus. We were amazed when these rolls came back EMPTY the next day! Jesus was risen!
See if your child can do these things this week...
1. Tell you the sounds that 10 letters make.
2. Count from 1 to 20.
3. Order the written numbers 1 to 10.
4. Tell you the story of Easter.
5. Make an AB pattern.
We can't wait to see everyone after spring break!
