A Roaring Week!

Dinosaurs got everyone excited this week! These sweet kiddos bring a smile when they come in the room and leave us smiling when they walk out the door. :)

This week, we talked all about dinosaurs. We made our own hand print stegosauruses (while practicing writing our names), colored dinosaurs, stomped like dinosaurs, played with dinosaurs, dug for dinosaurs, read books about dinosaurs, and more! We had fun with the dinosaur footprints that showed up in our room and the T-Rex that visited our classroom! We even enjoyed going on a dinosaur egg hunt outside! In our centers, we continued to work on patterns, practiced cutting, counted/measured with dinosaur bones, and continued to practice building our names.

We talked about how dinosaurs lived long ago on the earth and that we can only know about them through fossils. We also discussed how God made the dinosaurs long, long ago.

To add to our fun, we enjoyed a special visit from the Lafayette Township Fire Department! We will be doing some more fire safety activities after fall break, but they came ahead this week! We so much appreciate them taking the time to teach these sweet kiddos about how to be safe in the case of a fire. We even got to climb up into their truck and see it firsthand!

Mrs. Katie and I had fun watching all of our sweet friends interact with one another and continue to develop friendships. Every week, we see more hugs and smile as they play together more. This week, I was also struck by how far many of the students have already come. I watched as students correctly gripped their markers, colored in the lines, and remembered letters we learned over a month ago. I am so proud of this sweet class!

This week, see if your child can...

1. Tell you anything about dinosaurs or fossils.
2. Recite September's Bible verse with the motions (Genesis 1:31) or tell you about everything God made!
3. Find the letter D in a book and tell you the sound it makes. **Our Dino poem from this week will be added to poetry folders with the next poem!
4. Write the numbers 1-5 with chalk!
5. Practice cutting along a straight line.
