This week, we continued to review letter P and introduced the letter H. We also continued to have fun with pumpkins and other Halloween activities. We had a candy corn "theme" with many of our activities, creating candy corn letters, counting candy corn, and learning a candy corn Bible lesson. We will be moving on to November's Bible verse this coming week, but you might want to continue to practice Joshua 1:9 with your child at home. The candy corn poem/lesson that we learned this week is typed for every student in a bag of candy corn (which got left in the classroom), so they will get them next week!
We also had a wonderful time with our visit from the fire department on Thursday. We packed a lot of learning about fire safety into one morning. The firemen taught us some important lessons... See if your child can remember any! They discussed getting out of the house when smoke alarms go off, never touching hot things, having a meeting spot outside for your family, calling 911, and how to put fire out from your clothes. We also got to see a fire fighter put on all his gear and even got an up-close view of a fire truck! We are very appreciative of the fire department coming!
A HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who came to help with the party or sent in awesome treats! We are so blessed by each of you. Our party was so much fun, and we hope everyone enjoyed it. We got to eat such yummy snacks, play Halloween bingo, make a monster craft, make popcorn "Halloween hands", and do a bean bag toss. Before the party, we even got to go trick or treating for a few minutes to the businesses next to us!
Lastly, thank you to everyone for the ADORABLE emotion pumpkins you made with your child. They were precious, and we look forward to sharing them when we have a more normal schedule next week!
We can't wait to see everyone this coming week!
This week, see if your child can...
1. Tell you the three colors on a candy corn and what shape a candy corn is.
2. Make the letters P and H out of materials in your home.
3. Read a book about Halloween with you.
4. Practice their "5 Little Pumpkins" song.
5. Sing the song "FIRE SAFETY RAP" with you that we practiced (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_5FqaWTj9c&t=83s)
